Young Adulterer (2017)
Some men have power fantasies. Young Adulterer is the nightmare of male fragility. Lately, Wes Thompson’s girlfriend has seemed more committed to her cell phone than their relationship. Clothes that once fit are now fitting to burst and age is transforming his body in ways that Cronenberg would be afraid to film. Even his own brother, an up-and-outing trans person, appears like more of a “real man” than the face Wes sees in the mirror. A college graduate cast to the purgatory of retail, it seems that his prime has come and gone. He tries to make fleeting connections with customers, but is often left feeling like he's looking for love in the eyes of a hooker. His only shot at recapturing glory days appears to be his upcoming five-year high school reunion, where he hopes to make right with those he has wronged and reconnect with that part of himself lost sometime between graduation and those hazy college years. A drunken connection with his high school sweetheart jeopardizes the state of his life when she turns up pregnant with his child. This most recent in a long line of disasters forces Wes to decide whether to make an opportunity to better himself or another excuse for self-pity.

Aaron Texter's Book Club (2016 - Previously Unreleased)
This was an unreleased book written while I was in college. It was part of a larger project under the Renaissance Men banner, a multi-media collective I co-founded in college. A lot of the plot, characters, and themes were discussed with my friend, RJ Shick. The plan was to write a book as well as a scripted Youtube series or a feature-length movie. I parted ways with the group before completing the final draft and aborted the project out of respect for Shick's creative contribution to the inception of this book, down to its name. My platonic better-half at Long Shot Books, Maureen has always been a supporter of this book and should be happy to finally see it surface in some official capacity. Hopefully RJ will be as well, and then the fucking movie can finally get made lol. This book is dedicated to the two of them, my professor and one of my greatest influences, Phil Terman, oversaw an early draft of this project and whose encouragement over the years is an endless inspiration, the Shick family, who took me in as one of their own, as well as the rest of the Renaissance Men.
